Checklist for Choosing A Builder

  • Ask if everyone working on your property will be employees covered under the builder's insurance. Some builders carry insurance on themselves, but put uninsured sub-contractors on your project. This puts you at financial risk for any accidents that occur on your property.
  • Be an educated consumer-read the Court section of the Cape Cod Times. It's disappointing to see how frequently certain heavily-advertised builders are taken to court by customers. A little homework will save you from making the wrong choice.
  • Ask for references. There's nothing like an unbiased testimonial from a satisfied customer to convince you you've found the right fit.
  • Ask to see some of the company's completed projects.
  • Word of mouth is the most reliable way to learn if a company is reputable, honest, and reliable. Longevity is the hallmark of a good firm. (by the way, we're in our 26th year of business).
